New! Dell announces refresh of AMD processor-based server product line. Dell has refreshed all of its 2P and 4P PowerEdge™ servers with the new
Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor based on AMDs 45 nanometer process.

Dell has added the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor (code-named “Shanghai”) to its robust lineup of AMD processor-based rack optimized, blade and tower servers, effective immediately.  Included in the refresh is Dell’s M805 and M905 blade servers, designed to optimize virtualization applications with high memory configurations and robust I/O options.

AMD Opteron™ processors.


HP refreshes eight servers and launches a new server with the enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors – six rack-optimized HP ProLiant DLxx5 G5 servers, the new DL385 G5p and two blades – the HP ProLiant BL465c G5 and BL495c G5 server blades as well as the high-end xw9400 workstation for compute and visually intensive applications.
