The Meltdown of 2008: Relax
I've been covering technology since 1988. Every few years, I've seen a part (or all) of the tech economy collapse, only to come back stronger in the recovery. It's the nature of entrepreneurial economies to follow this boom-and-bust cycle. But as technology gets more ingrained into the economy at large, the overall economy and the tech economy become more closely tied. In other words, what's happening now in the economy at large will have big effects on Web development. Still, we can think of it not as a death sentence for tech or start-ups, but rather a culling of the herd.

StumbleUpon 2.0: Good-bye, software toolbar

StumbleUpon is changing the way users interact with the service, ditching the need for a software-based browser toolbar in place of a small frame that loads on top of the Web site you're on.
